Deal Ribbon

Implementation Guide & Best Practices

Overview

The Deal Ribbon is a high-visibility, full-width banner designed to create a sense of urgency and grab the reader's attention mid-scroll. It's particularly effective for roundup posts where one specific product currently has a significant discount or is part of a limited-time promotion.

How to Use

  1. Banner Content: Enter the product name and ASIN. The ribbon focuses on text and urgency rather than images to keep the page speed high and the design clean.
  2. Deal Label: This is the headline of the banner (e.g., "BLACK FRIDAY DEAL" or "HOT PRICE TODAY"). It appears next to the lightning bolt icon.
  3. Theme Selection: Choose a color that matches the intensity of the deal. Amazon Red is best for high urgency, while Savings Green is softer and builds a "value" association.
  4. Countdown Timer: You can add a self-resetting timer (15, 30, or 60 minutes). This is a conversion optimization feature that maintains a consistent feeling of "acting now" for every unique visitor.

Conversion Psychology

The Deal Ribbon uses "Loss Aversion" and "Scarcity" to drive clicks. By highlighting a specific deal and adding a visual timer, you reduce the reader's friction to click. Once they are on Amazon, the affiliate cookie is set, increasing the likelihood of a conversion across their entire cart.

Installation

Copy the generated HTML. Note that if you've enabled the countdown timer, the code includes a small, lightweight JavaScript snippet. Paste this into your site's Custom HTML or Code block. It is designed to be fully self-contained and will not conflict with other scripts on your page.
